This is a cross between a guide and a review and food journal, loosely formatted, with plenty of my own bias thrown in. Nevertheless, it is completely independent. I do not accept commissions or favours for comment. I enjoy food and hope this helps you explore what Vientiane has to offer.

About Me
I have a really strong stomach - I eat everything. If you know you are prone to tummy upsets, then please exercise your own caution. You’re less likely to get sick from the Lao food, and more likely from the cheese after a few consecutive hot days.
I am Australian, with Chinese-Malaysian background. I appreciate most types of cuisine, from East to West, but I have yet to acquire a taste for many foods including: oysters, licorice, korean food, really spicy food.
